Fr. Joseph Sedley, C.P. a native Pittsburgher, was professed a Passionist in 1962 and ordained to the priesthood in 1969. He attended John Carroll University in Cleveland; Boston College, plus the Passionist Seminary System, and studied Spiritual Direction ministry at Scranton University and The Center for Spiritual Direction in Cambridge, Mass. He did graduate study at Notre Dame University in Indiana, and Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, plus many workshops, Seminars etc. for ongoing education.
His Ministry: retreat ministry in Passionist Retreat Centers in Shrewsbury, Mass; Riverdale, New York; Baltimore, MD; Shelter Island, New York, and Pittsburgh.
He also served as Novice Director for the Passionists, gave retreats and Parish missions throughout the United States, and served in Jamaica, West Indies.
Fr. Joe is a member of The Association for the Study of Dreams, gives Dreams and Spiritual Growth workshops, and is a certified instructor in Communication workshops.
Fr. Joe is a guitarist, banjoist, and a member of the Pittsburgh Banjo Club, an avid reader, and enjoys theater, literature, classical music, bridge, studying Scripture, theology, psychology and other subjects. He is also a fresh and salt water fisherman, biker, swimmer, and hiker.
