It seems that almost everyone in our 21st century Western industrialized society is “too busy”. The frantic pace of daily life becomes a major obstacle to the development of the inner life of the Spirit.
This presentation will invite you to reflect on your relationship to our society and culture in order to face the challenge: do I allow society to shape my spirituality, or do I use my spirituality to shape my role in this society and culture? I will suggest that one of the great sources of wisdom from our Christian past, desert spirituality, has a great deal to offer to the frenzied person of the New Millennium. The practical wisdom of the desert can indeed bring a spirituality of genuine peace to the complex life of those who face the challenges of living in the postmodern city.
Registration begins at 4:30 PM. The program includes Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction, Opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, conference, and concludes with the Celebration of the Eucharist.
