Mary Ann Laba was born and raised on the South Side of Pittsburgh. Mary Ann attended Saint Adalbert Grade School and High School and continued her studies in the field of Business, majoring in accounting.
Mary Ann entered the corporate world, working for Duquesne Light Company for over thirty years in the following departments: Purchasing, Budget, Construction, Meter Records, and Operations, serving as executive administrative assistant to personnel in Management. In addition to her regular duties, Mary Ann was assigned to the Distribution Operations Center during storm seasons. For five years, she coordinated a Management Audit for Operations with the Public Utility Commission (PUC).
Following her employment at Duquesne Light, Mary Ann was hired in 2004 as the Database Manager for Saint Paul of the Cross Retreat Center. Prior to 2004, Mary Ann supported and worked with the Director of our Province Mission Fulfillment Program. In 2007, her responsibilities were expanded to include administrative work, scheduling and training volunteers for the Retreat Center, the Annual Fund, Special Appeals, Layout Editor for the Newsletter, and Promotion. Mary Ann works closely with the Retreat Team to prepare correspondence, announcements for the Diocesan Bulletin for Religious, and materials for retreats and Special Programs held at the Retreat Center.
Mary Ann is a Passionist Associate and is a member of Saint Paul of the Cross Auxiliary and the Confraternity of the Passion. These organizations support the Passionist Community and ministries in various ways including fund raising.
