Fr. Michael Greene, C.P.

About Fr. Michael Greene, C.P.

Hi, my name is Father Michael Greene. I am a Passionist priest. I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. I grew up there with my family and received my education in various Catholic schools. I left after my first year of college enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War. I spent most that time in the Pacific arena on an Aircraft carrier working as in Personnel management. Guam, Hong Kong, Hawaii, Japan, and the Philippines were the countries that I remember most.

It was during that time that I read about and met the Passionist Community. After making a retreat at our place in the Bronx, I felt called to join. There were several reasons, but that’s a story for another day. I entered our formation program and went on to complete college earning a degree in Religious Studies from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. After our year of spiritual training at our monastery in West Hartford, CT, I went to Jamaica, NY for our education in theology, earning a Master’s Degree in New Testament and a Master of Divinity. From there I’ve gone on to be a parish priest in Baltimore, MD and Atlanta, Ga. I have been part of the retreat ministry in Shelter Island, NY, Jamaica, NY, and the Bronx, NY. Other than that, I’ve work in the Radio & TV ministry in Scranton, as well as The Sunday Mass produced in Pelham, NY. After serving the Jamaica Community as Vice-Rector for 7 years, I am happily joining Fr. Curtis in the retreat ministry at St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center. I look forward to meeting you during this new retreat season and be assured that you are in our prayer.
